2014 First Place Award in Photography, 44th Annual Sidewalk Arts Festival.
2009 "Cable's Leaders in Learning Award" for the creation and management of TATV, the only student-run high school station in the nation, Washington, D.C.
2006 - Student Television Network (STN) Board of Directors. Wrote the bylaws for STN.

2000 The 30th Annual Saco Sidewalk Art Festival dedicated to the TA Arts Department for creation and dedication of an Artist-In-Residence Program.

1994 Awarded Maine College of Art’s “Award for Public School Arts Education” for outstanding contributions to the arts in Maine, and for arts advocacy.
1994 Named ‘Outstanding Visual Arts Educator’ in the nation, Disney’s American Teacher Awards, Washington, D. C., during a live national broadcast, Washington, D.C.
1993 Wrote art exhibition reviews for the Journal Tribune, Biddeford, Maine, for their summer flyer series.
1992 Bronze sculpture class at Maine College of Art.
1992 Exhibited two paintings and 1 sculpture in a group exhibit of Maine art educators, Wiscasset Art Gallery, Wiscasset, Maine.
1991 Served on the ‘Per Cent for Art Committee’ to select artwork for the renovated Burns School, Saco, Maine.
1990 IBM’s ‘Maine Technology Teacher of the Year’ for creative and innovative use of computers in a visual arts program.
1989 National Art Education Association’s ‘Outstanding Program Standards Award’ for designing and creating an outstanding visual arts program, Washington, D.C.
1985 Named ‘Maine Art Educator of the Year’ by the State of Maine and the Maine Art Education Association.
1984 Named ‘New England Art Educator of the Year’ at the New England Regional Art Education Conference.
1984 Thornton Academy visual arts program was chosen for inclusion in Getty Center for the Arts’ “Beyond Creating”, a publication identifying outstanding art programs that meet student needs. This was published and distributed nationally.
1983 Served on the design and implementation committee to establish Maine’s Student/Craft Institute, Haystack School of Crafts, Deer Isle, Maine, for Maine’s high school students.
