As a child I created new worlds as a basic part of my nature, especially during play. When working there were the daydreams which happens to those of us that have a creative nature. Often we are labeled “space cadets”. Time doesn’t hold us in one spot.

Over time the underlying urge to create, to renew, and to manipulate grew and evolved. The joy, awe, wonder, playfulness, and discovery from childhood became the basis for my evolution into a visual arts educator and an artist. For me these two vocations are like the roots of a tree that become woven into the ground over time.

Like the tree that experiences each season, various learnings and events colored my mind and spirit with each lesson I taught and each art piece I created.

There is nothing like creating, renewing, or manipulating time, space and the materials of the earth, allowing for the expression of feelings, moods, ideas, and thoughts. Transformation and transcendence await within each season.
